Activity Description:
-
Students are attempting
to make as many consecutive passes to one another as possible; dropping
the ball causes the "egg" to break.
-
If the egg breaks, counting
must begin again from one.
|
Rules:
-
Short, underhand tosses
only (no lob passes above people's heads).
-
Player with the ball
may not take more than two steps.
-
Must use the entire
space of the gym.
|
Teaching Points:
-
Keep head up as not
to run into another student.
-
Communicate to your
partner that you are ready to receive a pass and signal where to pass the
ball to.
|
Organization Points:
-
Keep groups as small
as possible to maximize the number of times each student touches the ball
during the activity.
-
Begin warm-up with the
students standing stationary and close to each other (approximately 2 meters
apart). Eventually ask each student to take one or two giant steps
backward.
-
Gradually increase the
intensity by asking the students to walk around the gym, then jog, then
run.
